About the Artist

I'm Bob Dionne, a photographer based in Portland, Oregon, with a deep appreciation for nature, landscapes, closeups, urban textures, and abstract scenes. In truth, I’m drawn to any moment or composition that catches my eye and invites me into the creative flow.

My photography journey began in 2016 with an impulsive purchase—a camera kit from a Costco pallet—sparked by the simple desire for a hobby. Since then, photography has become a meditative and expressive practice. I’m largely self-taught, guided by curiosity, the generosity of YouTube instructors, a few transformative workshops, and countless hours of experimentation with both camera and editing tools. Over time, I’ve developed a style often described as painterly or dreamlike, with images that soften the line between photograph and memory.

Outside the lens, I find inspiration in nature, hiking trails, quiet cooking sessions, and the visual work of other artists. I'm fascinated by light, shape, and the small moments that ask us to pause. I hope to create images that evoke feeling—sometimes contemplative, sometimes mysterious—not always telling a story, but always inviting a response.
